Lester, Billy G. Billy G. Lester passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born on June 22, 1930 in Memphis, TX to the late Robert and Inez Lester. In 1948 he married Lela Watson; they shared 57 years of marriage until her death on November 20, 2005. Billy and Lela were members of North Phoenix Baptist Church until their deaths. Billy worked in the cottonseed processing industry beginning in Memphis, TX at Western Cotton Oil and retiring from Anderson Clayton (Western Cotton Oil), Phoenix in 1992. Upon his retirement Billy and Lela traveled both domestically and internationally. Billy also enjoyed restoring / building hot rod cars and participated in the annual Route 66 run. Billy is survived by his son Bill (Beth) Lester, daughter-in-law Pam Lester-Haggard, six grandchildren Tina (Chris) Painter, Billy (Stacey) Lester, Brad (Erin) Lester, Robert (Andrea) Lester, Brett (Tylor) Schulte & Beverly (Tom) Jenkinson, 14 great grandchildren and caregiver, Cheryl Ahart. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby and a sister, Dorothy VanDeventer. Family and friends are invited to a visitation TONIGHT Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 5-7PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale.
