Billie D BruceSan AngeloBillie Sarver Bruce, 93, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. She was born on June 22, 1923 in Vidor, Texas to William and Jonnie Sarver. Billie graduated as valedictorian from Vidor High School in 1940. She married the love of her life, Fred Bruce, on March 11, 1941, in Beaumont, Texas. After being a housewife for many years, she went on to get her Bachelor's Degree in education from Angelo State University in 1970, and then received her Master's Degree in 1975, and taught English for several years. Billie was very active in, and a lifetime member of, the First United Methodist Church. A few of her pastimes included gardening and cooking, but her main goal in life was to take care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, five siblings, and two granddaughters.She is survived by three children, her daughter, Judie Andrews and her husband James; and two sons, Robert Bruce and his wife Neva, and Lynn Bruce and his wife Jan; two grandsons, Richard Andrews and Robbie Bruce, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.Family visitation will be from 2 p.m. 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held 2 p.m Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, in Belvedere Cemetery with Reverend Sam Hunnicutt officiating.Family and friends may express condolences and sign the online guest book at
