Betty Witherington GardnerBetty Witherington Gardner of Tallahassee died Wednesday, April 5, 2017.She was born on January 4, 1940 in Fordyce, Arkansas to Tracy Enoch Witherington and Mina Wardlaw Witherington.Betty is survived by her husband, William H. (Bill) Gardner and two daughters, Tracy Showman (Chris) and Meg Duckworth (Mike) both of Augusta, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Key Showman, Gardner Duckworth, Mary Will Showman, Mathurin Duckworth, Laine Showman and Wilkes Duckworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marjorie Witherington Crump and a brother, Thomas Tracy Witherington.Betty was a member of First Baptist Church for 53 years and involved in various church programs, including the Bed Babies Nursery and Women on Mission Programs.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Welcome Center of the church.In lieu of flowers, please make donations designated to the Nursery Fund of First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, 108 W.
