Betty Lee (Scearcy) Risley, 88Betty Lee (Scearcy) Risley, 88, of Kentland, died at 9:25 am Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Iroquois Resident Home of Watseka, IL. She was born on December 7, 1925 in Iroquois County, IL to William and Bernice (Richison) Scearcy. She graduated from Donovan High School in Illinois. Her marriage of 67 years was to Harold A. Risley on June 4, 1946 at Mt. Zion E.U.B. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2013.Betty was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and UMW, the Newton Co. Historical Society, Newton Co. Home Extension, Knot-Just Quilters, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors of America. She had worked for Dormeyer Industries, Sears, and the Newton County Auditor's Office. Betty enjoyed word-searches, sewing, and quilting, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Janine Tambling (husband: Gary) of Clifton, IL, Randall Risley (wife: Kathleen) of Kentland, Janis Hillary (husband: Dennis) of Kankakee, IL, Ronald Risley of Brook, and Rick Risley (wife: Debra) of Kentland. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 stepgreat-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Irvin Light, and a sister-in-law, Dottie Scearcy. Preceding her in death with her parents and husband are her siblings, Maxine Hoover, Arlene Murray, Doris Light, Loren Scearcy, Charles Scearcy, and Kay Bennett. Friends may call from 3-7 pm (CST), Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Funeral Service at 11 am (CST), Monday, December 30, 2013 at Mt.
