Betty Jean Buckley Obituary

Aug 22, 1953 - Aug 21, 2023

This obituary is administered by:

Our angel gained her wings.

To Our Dear Mother Grandmother, and Friend…

Hello Angel, “I know you had to depart but there is an empty space forever in our heart Your babies’ hearts are heavy from you being gone But no more pain, just peace so you had to move on Always have compassion and care for the elderly is what you always said to do I know you are up there continuing your passion with your love ones and friends, this much is true”

Betty Buckley came into this world carrying three things - 1) an overabundance of love for her family, friends, and clients, 2) joy enough to share with everyone she met and 3) a heart for service.

She is survived by her children: Gordon, Stephanie, and Ketrina; her 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters: Vanessa Martin of Virginia, Essie Jones of Colorado; three brothers: Willie “Buddy” Buckley of Arkansas, Lee Elvis of Louisana, and Edward Joe Buckley of Georgia, and great aunt Lee Ella Johnson of Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents James and Idae Mae Buckley. Sisters Zola Jones, Ruby Buckley, and Pearlie Mae Culpepper. Brother James Lewis

Betty dedicated her life to caring for the sick and elderly clients and providing companionship like only she could. The staff at Angel Companions, where she most recently worked, credit Betty with bringing the company name to life in the most amazing ways. She put the “Angel” in Angel Companions. Because of Betty’s kind nature and lovable personality, her clients quickly grew to love her and consider her part of the family.

She loved to cook because it was one way to express her love. Her laugh was contagious as was her love for watching wrestling and cheering on her WWE Smackdown favorites #Roman Reigns every Monday and Friday night. Like her beloved WWE stars, Betty put up a grand fight against cancer. She worried not about herself but about those around her.

Today we ask anyone reading this to do a small act of service in honor of the woman who took care of people her whole life. It was her true calling, and she did it better than anyone, whether as a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and aunt or a friend.

You can to the family or in memory of Betty Buckley.
