ZIMMER, Betty J. September 30, 1930 - October 27, 2016 Betty J. Zimmer passed away peacefully on October 27, 2016 in Santa Rosa, CA. Betty was born on September 30, 1930 to parents George and Anna Muck in Murdo, South Dakota. She moved to Mitchell, SD where she met and married Jack Zimmer and had her two daughters. They moved to Richmond, CA in 1953, then to Santa Rosa, CA in 1955. Betty had many hobbies such as crocheting, crafting and sewing. She loved to decorate her home for family gatherings. Betty loved to cook and have special dinners on holidays, making many deserts for her family; we called the family dinners "A Betty Z". She had a very strong will to live and she fought a tough battle for many years. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Jack Zimmer, son Rick Zimmer, and son-in-law Ron Jenkins. She is survived by her five children: Jackie (Daryl), Jeff (Doris), Joel, Bill, all of Santa Rosa, and Terry Jenkins of Cloverdale; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday November 4, 2016 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Eggen & Lance Chapel, 1540 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 with the funeral service to follow from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. The burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennett Valley Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 following the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Heartland Hospice, 2455 Bennett Valley Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
