Betty J. PollardPEORIA - Betty J. Pollard, age 83, of Peoria passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Pekin.Betty was born on October 5, 1933, in Peoria to John and Lina (McGovern) Maroney. She married Billy H. Pollard on August 9, 1952, in Corinth, Mississippi.Surviving are her husband, Billy; her children, Randy (Karen) Pollard of Germantown Hills, IL, and William "Bill" Pollard and John (Debi) Pollard of Peoria, IL; her daughter-in-law, Rozan Pollard of Eureka, IL; 11 grandchildren, Anita Bennett, Jessica Collins, Brandon Painter, Rachel Espinosa, Bradley (Heidi) Pollard, Timothy Pollard, Amy Pollard, Katie Pollard, Adam Pollard, Seth Pollard and Kaitlyn Pollard; and 13 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Painter; her parents; one sister; and two brothers.Betty was a loving wife and mother. She was a Matron for the Peoria County Jail and worked security for Bradley University and the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport. Betty also worked for the Gift Avenue Juvenile Detention Center and was a crossing guard for District 150. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Roger Lipe of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
