Betty Frey1919 - 2013Betty Frey, 94, of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha. Betty was born on March 14, 1919, in Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of the late William and Glenn (Wells) Ehnert. She was educated in the schools of Waukegan, Ill. She married James Frey on May 29, 1945 in Waukegan, Ill. She was employed as a receiving clerk at Montgomery Wards for many years retiring in 1983. Her hobbies included crafts, knitting, playing piano, flowers, going on special vacations with family, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a big heart and her love and concern for others continued to show even in the midst of her difficult illness. Survivors include two daughters, Claudia (Jerry) Thorne, Jamie (Charles, deceased) Henry both of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Todd (Heide) Thorne of Wheatland, Erick (Jenny) Thorne of Kenosha, Jason (Jodi) Henry of Alberta, Canada, Justin (Katie) Henry of Lombard, Ill.; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Frey, and a sister, Shirley Spallato. Bettys family would like to thank Brookside Care Centers nurses, aides, activity dept., and kitchen staff for their care and devotion they gave to our mother for the last 4 1/2 years. A special thank you to moms aides Mickey, Paula, Michelle, John, Nathan, and Erica who were with her most from beginning to end making mom happy in the most difficult time of her illness. Marisa Nudo who devoted every Thursday night to come to Brookside to fix our mothers hair, we thank you. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, with funeral services to follow at 12 Noon. Entombment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Brookside Care Center Activity Dept. in memory of Betty Frey.
