Betty Jean Allan, 82, of Silver City, NM, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home. Betty was born on July 8, 1934 in Santa Clara, NM to Orville Davis Holloway and Callie Mae Holloway. She grew up in White Signal, NM and attended school at the White Signal School House. In 1950, she met the love of her life, Pete, and they married in 1952. Pete and Betty went on to have two sons and make their home in Tyrone, NM. Betty lived a happy and fulfilled life. She loved to sew and always made sure there was plenty of food on the table for anyone who visited her home. Betty knew no stranger as she treated anyone she met like they were family. She is survived by her son, Jim Allan and his wife, Pam, four grandchildren, Tami Legarda and husband Rudy, Tanya Renteria and husband Troy, Heather Holzinger and husband Aaron, and Jennifer Kirkpatrick. Betty has six great-grandchildren, Christopher Allan, Brooklyn Renteria, Cameron Holzinger, Kalob Holzinger, Jacob Holzinger and Denise Kirkpatrick. She is also survived by Her brother, Dexter Holloway and his companion, Sandy, her sister, Lenora Braley and her husband, Claude, multiple nieces and nephews, and many family friends who knew her as "Grandma Betty." She is preceded in death by her husband, her son, Steve W. Allan, her grandson, James R. Allan, her parents, her two brothers, Calvin and James Holloway, and her sister, Ella Mae Jensen. A Memorial Service in her remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3:00pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Andy Housley officiating. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
