Betty Jean Holmes (Betty Boop) age 62, of Beaufort, South Carolina Gained her wings Thursday October 31, 2024. Born November 30, 1961, to the late Jimmy Holmes and Mildred Goodwin in Beaufort, SC. She was the eighth of ten children and the third girl. She graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1980 and was a regular attendee at the First Baptist Church of Cresmont in Philadelphia, PA. Betty had a strong faith in God and was always grateful for the blessings she received throughout her life. Family and friends affectionately referred to her as the life of the party; no one could "Slow Roll It" quite like she could. There was never a dull moment in her presence. Betty deeply loved her family, consistently expressing her support and affection. She enjoyed her warm beer, singing, dancing, joking, cooking and going back home to South Carolina spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy Holmes and Mildred Goodwin. Her brothers Wayne Holmes, and Jimmy Holmes Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings Michael (Ruthie) Middleton of Beaufort, SC, Hattie (the Late Fred) Monroe of Silver Spring, MD, Beatrice Zeller of Beaufort, SC, Joe Holmes of Philadelphia, PA , Tammy Boyd of Beaufort, SC, Paula (Timothy) Holmes-Stewart of Oxon Hill, MD. A host of nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished immensely. A devoted friend who was more like a sister Tracy Small of Philadelphia, PA, and Ashley Shaw whom she shared a close bond with and referred to as her niece. Betty was loved and cherished by her family and friends, and while she will be greatly missed she will forever be in our hearts. Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:30am at G Choice Funeral Chapel 2530 N. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19132, immediately followed by a Tribute Celebration at 11:00 am. Interment Merion Memorial Park 59 W. Rock Hill Road Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
