Bessie Leonard-Bassett , 79, of Belleville Illinois, passed on November 06, 2020. Bessie was born on May 18, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL. 

Bessie was a member of Mt.Zion Baptist Church in East St. Louis. She enjoyed cooking dinners nearly every Sunday for her entire family and also helped feed people in the neighbor hood.

Bessie was preceded in death by her son, Michael Leonard, and her two sisters, Jacqueline Leonard-Mays and Ida Downs.

Bessie is survived by three sons and one daughter, Ronald Bassett, David Bassett, Leonidas Williams and Tamara Bassett. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren as well as many other loved ones.
