Vanderwerf, age 70, of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Friday. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.Bernice was born on November 11, 1946 in St. Cloud to Albert and Mildred (Kowitz) Skudlarek. She married Dale Vanderwerf on July 1, 1967 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Bernice was a daycare provider for over 40 years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.She enjoyed garage sales, thrift shops, horse racing and all of her daycare kids. Bernice had a big heart, and was always putting others before herself.  She especially loved all the time spent with her family.Bernice is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Scott (Linda) Vanderwerf of Shakopee, Brian (fiancée Angela Behrends) of Minneapolis; brother, Eugene (Bonnie) Skudlarek of Nisswa; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Angie Ligeros and Eileen Rees.A Warm Thank You to the Staff of Coborn Cancer Center for all the care given to Bernice.
