Bernice M. Lucero, 65, passed away on Jan. 2, 2016 surrounded by many of her loved ones.She was born on July 7, 1950, to the late Fidel Baca and Lydia Solano. She was known as a very loving and giving person with her big golden heart. Bernice was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, foster parent, and friend who welcomed everyone into her home.She is preceded in death by her parents, Fidel Baca and Lydia Solano; father-in-law, Arsenio Lucero; sister, Margaret, Quintana; brothers, Victor Baca and Raymond Padilla.Bernice is survived by her loving husband, Max Lucero, and mother-in-law, Esther Lucero, of Ojitos Frios; daughters, Theresa Lucero and partner, Kathy Irvin, of Albuquerque, Brenda Gonzales (Joseph), Sandra Lucero-Baca (Alfred); son, Andrew Lucero (Nina) and Daniel Lovato, of Ojitos Frios; grandchildren, Anthony Lucero (Noel), Brittany Sabedra (Austin Collins), Chantelle and Andrew Lucero Jr., Allanna, Damon and Brannon of Albuquerque, Katrina and Jaizley Gonzales, Jasmine and Jennifer Sanchez, Amri Lucero, Ricardo Baca (Samantha) of Las Vegas, Renee Romero of Nevada and Dyvina Moya of Pecos; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Gonzales, Abigail Lucero, Santiago Pacheco, Marcelina, Isaac and Alexiah Collins, and Dardo Baca; brothers and sisters, Frank Baca (Sandra), Gloria Romero (Nick), Albert Baca (Hazel), Archie Lucero (Lupe), Vita Quintana (Richard) of Albuquerque, Louie Baca (Molly), Raquel Lucero (Alice) of Las Vegas, Becky Rodriguez (Marcos), Geraldine Bate, Jimmy, JoJo, Debbie Padilla, Denise Torres(Jim) of Denver, Dolores Inkenberry (Bob) of Iowa. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Services for Bernice will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church as follows: Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday); celebration of the funeral mass at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Burial to take place at a later date.Serving as pallbearers will be Brannon, AJ Lucero, Louie Baca Jr., Amri Lucero, David Quintana, William Torres, Ricardo Baca; honorary pallbearers are Anthony Lucero, Alfred Baca and Joseph Gonzales.
