Clark, Bernard L.Bernard L. Clark, age 90, of Corning, NY died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Bernie was born on June 22, 1926 in Corning to Bernard and Dorothy (Cady) Clark. He served in the
United States Navy during World War II on a troop transport ship. He married Lillian Strawser in 1951 and was preceded in death by her in 1997. He owned and operated Community Disposal Service, Inc. in Corning. Bernie loved traveling with his wife of 46 years. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida and was a huge sports fan. But most importantly, he was a family man. He is survived by three sons, Daniel Clark of Painted Post, David (Camilla) Clark of Cape Coral, FL, and Douglas Clark of Corning; four brothers, Ed Clark of Corning, Larry Clark of Florida, Bob Clark of Pennsylvania, and Ron Clark of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Elicia, Trey, Brent, Ashley, Kimberly, and Kristopher; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by his brothers: Gerald, Richard, Bruce, and Donald. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 3rd from 1-3 and 6-8 at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Corning. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Dave Clark Foundation, 85 Denison Pkwy E, Corning, NY 14830. Bernie's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
