Bennett Betahny Yazzie passed away on November 14, 2015 at the age of 33. He was born on December 9, 1981 in Yuma, Arizona.Bennett worked as a Quechan Headstart Teachers Aide; He was also a Grocery stocker at Wal-Mart; Worked at the Bard Water District; was a
Firefighter at Bureau of Indian Affairs; He was a cook at Harvest Prepatory School; a slot attendant at Paradise Casino; a Line cook at Carlsbad Tavern of Scottsdale, Arizona and Casino Arizona; A Sous Chef at Taklking Stick Resort and Executive Chef at Paradise Casino.Bennett was baptized at Mount Zion Church (now known as Imagine Nations Church). He completed Elementary, Middle and High School at San Pasqual Unified School District.He then went on to complete his Associates Degree at Le Cordon Blue of Scottsdale, Arizona.Bennett had a passion for cooking, fishing, drawing and high school. He liked to play football, track and fitness.Bennett is survived by his parents; Gary & Jeanie Yazzie of Winterhaven, California; sister; Yvonne (Diego) Galvan of Winterhaven, California; brother; Garrison (Christine) Yazzie of Yuma, Arizona; Uncles; Destry (Lillie) Escalanti; Joseph Nerva; Jimmy (Peggy) Yazzie; Aunts; Judith (Osborn) Prieta; Marlene Livas; Norina (Elias) Escalanti; Maureen Miller; Mae Deschene; Pearl James; Rose Ignacio; Helen Yazzie; Katherine Yazzie as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Emmitt Hartt Jr; Tracey Hartt; Aaron Livas; Frank Montoya; Jason Nerva; Reginald Phillips; Conrad Jackson; Diego Galvan; William Lauenzona, Santana Nerva; Kirk Nerva; Ramen Soliz; Duro Johnson; Joseph Cachera; Raphael Sandoval.
