Ben Daniel was Born March 31, 1930 in Greene County Penfield, Georgia to the Late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie (Hattie) Daniel. He joined the Sander Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and later moved his membership to Mount Patmos Baptist church in Decatur, Georgia. Ben served in the United States Army where he served faithfully and received an Honorable Discharge for service to his country. Ben also served in the Korean War. Ben relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he met the love of his life Deloris Daniel while serving as a Deacon in the church. Ben and Deloris united in Holy Matrimony in Decatur, Georgia and have been married for over 30 years. Ben was an amazing father and role model to his children with Deloris. Ben lived a life of integrity by putting God first and instilled this in his children. His children referred to him as DD. Also known as Deacon Daniel. His legacy lives on through them most of whom have obtained a Doctorate, master’s degrees, are United States Military Veterans, Military Officers and small business owners. Ben was the glue that held the family together and all of his children look up to him. He was loved by many. He was a man of god, a loving, caring person that was always there for others. He really enjoyed preparing delicious meals and tasting amazing food. On Wednesday April 3rd an Angel of the Lord came and carried the Spirit of Ben Daniel home at the Age of 89.
