Ben Cal Walker Obituary

Loved by many
Ben Walker, 73, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed on August 14, 2023. Ben was born on June 19, 1950.
Benjamin Cal Walker was born in Dell, Arkansas on June 19, 1950, to Cora and Burchon Walker, Senior. Ben was the fourth child of nine siblings. He received his formal education in Blytheville, Arkansas and he accepted Christ at a young age. After graduation, Ben pursued many trades including butchering, working for Borg Warner Systems Maintenance in Blytheville.
Moving to San Antonio, Texas, Ben worked as a construction laborer and was responsible for building bridges and many other projects. He became a civil service employee at Luke (Arizona), Lackland (San Antonio), Wright-Patterson (Ohio), and Laughlin (Del Rio) Air Force Bases and several other locations. His entrepreneur endeavor, "WE DO IT ALL SERVICE" was successfully managed for years over several states. This contracting service blessed many as he constructed buildings painted, landscaped and lawn/tree maintenance, fencing, and other home improvements at the drop of a hat! Benjamin Walker shared his carpentry gift every opportunity he could.
A celebrated grillmaster, he established BW's Barbeque (BW'S BBQ) and won several local completions and awards in and around Biloxi, MS. When family/friends visited, they'd be sure to expect a fantastic BBQ meal....food, fun, faith and fellowship. Ben had a natural hospitality mindset. Most places he went, he united neighborhoods and knocked down mailboxes!
Ben and Sharon Camille united in matrimony in San Antonio Texas, Lackland Air Force Base, 25 November 1995. Their blended family include Dominic Walker, Carol Walker (deceased), Alfred Craig (Miracle) Walker, Tamerra (Tevin) Fawkes and Dwight Walker (deceased). Their Goddaughters Jennifer Torres and Nicolynn Diaz, both from San Antonio are a special part of his family. Through this union the family traveled to various military bases, retiring at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS in 2011.
Ben transitioned from this side of heaven surrounded by loving family on Monday morning, Aug 14, 2023. He joins in heavenly realms his parents, brothers Howard and Robert, his sister Eulla, three sons, James, Dion, Dwight and his daughter Carol, along with beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers: Burchon Sr. (Mary), Curtis (Barbara), Alfred Rockerfella (Alice); sisters: Minnie Jones, Virginia Kay Young, Rose (Joseph) Nichols and a host of adored relatives and friends.
One of Ben's most favorite scriptures which he had on mostly all his business and email cards was John 3:16 FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. We believe Ben is resting comfortably, peacefully, moving and breathing freely. Therefore, let us celebrate and praise God!
Thank you to all the healthcare professionals, neighbors, family, and friends. Your compassion, presence, kindness, and support (in always coming to the rescue when I called) sustained me. Ben and I love you and appreciate you greatly.
