Barbara Jean Taylor WestfallBarbara Jean Taylor Westfall, 84, of Boise, ID passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in her daughter's home in Ogden, UT. Barbara had been suffering from lung cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 9 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa (467-7300) followed by burial at Cloverdale Memorial Park, 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd in Boise. A viewing will be held at Zeyer Funeral Chapel from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 and from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Friday, prior to the services. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.Barbara was born on January 12, 1930 as the 4th of 9 children of William Robert and Florence Maud Winch Taylor. She graduated Boise High School in May of 1948. She was a social person and had many friends through the years. She loved to ride horses, write poetry, and paint. She worked as a clerk, adding color to photo portraits and a telephone and switch-board operator. With her second husband, Delbert, she owned a hotel/bar/café in Council, Idaho. With her most recent husband Ken, she bought a small farm outside of Council where she raised her family. She enjoyed gardening and everything seemed to flourish under her care. This gave her family abundant home grown and preserved food. She was skilled at making crafts of every kind including crocheting dollies, knitting sweaters, and sewing clothing. She loved to enter her homemade items in the Adams County Fair. In 1972, Barbara was crowned "Mrs. Adams County." Barbara volunteered for the Veterans of Foreign Wars and helped with voting. She had the opportunity to travel to England with her siblings, ride the Canadian railroad, travel to Florida, and even got the chance to fly to Hawaii to watch a BSU Broncos football game. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara is survived by her children Diana Lee (Ken) Ludwig, Terri Ann (George) Comber, Michael Alyn Westfall; 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lester Westfall; children Anita Jean Layman, Donald Wayne Layman, a still born son; a granddaughter Kabrina Dawn Hawkins and two previous husbands J Delbert Layman and Carl Leo Reichman.
