Barbara Joan Harbin, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at her home. She was born on January 17, 1935 in Alberta, Canada. Barbara received all her education including 2 years at the University in Canada. She worked in various work capacities as a mother, a baker, a butcher, a postal mistress and a florist. Barbara was an excellent seamstress and loved her crafts. She never missed the chance to help anyone if she could. She was a very loving and caring person. In 1997 she moved to Yuma and married her husband Joe, better known as Jose. She had been a devoted member of the Yuma Chapter #14 OES for the last 7 years. Barbara became a very proud citizen of the United States of America on February 17, 2009. Barbara is survived by her husband, Joe Harbin, Sr.; daughters, Patricia Calder of Canada, Theida Sparks, and Judy Ely of California; sons, Lee Taylor and Rodney Taylor of Canada, and Joe Harbin, Jr. of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Canada and the United States. Celebration of Life services will be held at Masonic Temple, 153 S. 2nd Ave, Yuma, on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Following will be a dinner. God saw that she was getting tired and a cure was not to be found, so he put his arms around her and whispered "Come with me". He only takes the best.
