Barbara IngersollBonita Springs, FLBarbara Ingersoll passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on May 24th, 2017. Barbara was born on January 24, 1943 in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Harold and Irene Phelps. Little did Barbara know as a child she would meet Charles Ingersoll, her husband for the next 55 years, whom she married on March 17th, 1962. Together they would go on to raise a wonderful family, and have a lifetime of fun. Leaving her roots in Fulton, NY, Barbara and Chuck spent a number of years in Skaneateles, NY, moving then to Nashville, TN, before finally settling into retirement in Bonita Springs, FL in 2001. Anyone who has met Barbara knows how much of a fun loving and kind person she was. No matter the situation you could always count on her smile. Barbara during her life meet a great many friends, and the outpouring of support during her long illness gave her a great deal of comfort. Barbara also took great pride in her family. Her loving husband Chuck was always by her side, an immeasurable pillar of support. Her daughter Sandra from Syracuse, NY and her son Michael from Andover, KS, were raised by the best Mother any child could ask for. Her grandchildren, Dominic, Johnny, Nicole and Nathaniel were a great source of joy in her life. She never asked anything for herself, even through her illness, all she wanted was the best for those around her. Barbara is survived by her husband Charles; son Michael; daughter Sandra; grandchildren Dominic, Johnny, Nicole and Nathaniel. The family wishes to say thank you to all her friends, the Hunter's Ridge Community, and the Staff of Florida Cancer Specialists, for their love, support, and care during her illness. She felt very blessed to have them in her life. It was Barbara's wishes that we have a celebration of her life. The celebration will be planned for this fall.
