Barbara A. ZieglerZANESVILLE: Barbara A. Ziegler, 85, of Zanesville, passed away at 9:32 a.m. Friday March 27, 2015 at The Oaks at Bethesda after a brief illness. She was born on September 9, 1929 in Zanesville a daughter of the late Elmer and Lila Baughman. She was a member of the Fair Oaks Baptist Church in Zanesville. Barb was employed at Ohio Bell as an operator for many years. She enjoyed raising her two sons, golfing with her girlfriends and was an avid fan of Ohio sports, the Cincinnati Reds, the Ohio State University (National Champion) Buckeyes. She cherished the time she spent with her friends and family, but most importantly, the love of her life, her husband Jack. Anyone who knew Barb cherished her spitfire personality, infectious laugh, and love of life.She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Lori) Ziegler of Biloxi, Mississippi and Mark (Christa) Ziegler of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Cassie (Kyle) Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brandon Ziegler of Biloxi, Mississippi; one brother, Willard (Shirley) Baughman; one sister, Mary Roberts; many nieces and nephews. Her precious granddogs Pippi and Shadi. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, whom she met on a blind date, Jack Ziegler; two brothers, Bernie and Earl Baughman; one sister, Alice Emerick; brothers-in-law Eddie Emerick and Charles Roberts. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Monday March 30, 2015 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where services will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Mark Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.
