    We are saddened to announce the passing of Ava Carter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Ava was born on March 7, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington to Henry and Josephine Carter.

    She married the love of her life, George H. Carter, in 1963 and together they raised three children: Linda Marie Thompson, Trish Hernandez, and Bobby Carter. Ava was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first.

    Ava attended Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School and graduated in 1959. She continued her studies at the University of Washington School and graduated in 1963.

    In addition to her family, Ava was passionate about helping others and was an active volunteer with Thrive DC organization. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones.

    Ava will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and delicious meals. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

    Ava Carter passed away on October 5, 2025 due to old age. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
