Aua Segi, who was born on January 26, 1955, in Nuuuli, American Samoa. He passed away on April 19, 2024, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Aua was the beloved son of Fiapapalagi Segi Tuiolosega and Sapai To'e Lagafuaina Segi. He had no children of his own but was a cherished member of his extended family and community.
He attended Oceanside High School and graduated in 1973. Continuing his education, Aua went on to study at Mira Costa College and Kaplan College, where he honed his skills and knowledge.
Throughout his life, Aua worked diligently, most notably as a Recreational Director at Camp Pendleton, where he devoted many years of service overseeing various leisure activities for the military personnel stationed there. He also lent his talents and expertise to organizations such as Tri-City Hospital and with several organizations within the city of Oceanside, including the Sister City program, Boys & Girls Club, and gang prevention for the youth of Oceanside
Not only was Aua dedicated to his career, but he also served his country proudly as a member of the Army, demonstrating his commitment to duty and honor.
Outside of work, Aua found joy in a variety of hobbies, including sports, volunteering, cooking, reading the Bible, surfing, and playing his guitar. His passion for life and learning was evident to all who knew him.
Aua Segi will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will never be forgotten.
