CONROE, TEXAS - AT Evans was born on October 28, 1933 in Longstreet, Louisiana to Arthur and Mabel Evans. He was the youngest of 3 brothers and 1 sister. He moved to Monahans, Texas in 1951. He then went to work in the oilfield. In 1953, he met Janet Wood at Odessa College. They married in 1955. He was drafted into the army and spent 2 years on the Presidio army base in San Francisco, California. Gary was born in 1957, and they then moved back to Odessa where AT went to work for El Paso Products. Lynette was born in 1958, and Sheri in 1962. AT moved the family to Sweet Home, Oregon, where he worked for White's Electronics as a Manager. In 1969, the family moved back to Odessa where AT continued his job with White's Electronics. He was an accomplished author, and published 3 Treasure Hunter's yearbooks. He was again offered an El Paso Products job, and ended his career with a retirement from Meridian Oil in 1996. He was known as a caricature artist, and could draw anything by request. He loved Western swing music, and Southern gospel music. He also had his private pilot's license. He was a long time member of Crescent Park Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school director. He is survived by his wife Janet of 62 years, their children Gary, Lynette, and Sheri, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He resided in Conroe, TX. at the time of his death. Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 6, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Services entrusted to Frank W.
