Paul was born on July 26, 1927 in Kylesford, Tennessee to Ellis and Maude Hall Arrington. He grew up in the hills of Tennessee during the depression years. Times were very hard, but he had family around and together they took care of each other. Paul had 2 brothers; Donald and Clarence, three sisters; Lucille, Myrtle and Edith. He also had four half-brothers; Doug, Luther, Hugh Arrington and M.D. Waye. As a young man he worked his way west to help an uncle on his farm in Ola, Idaho. Paul then went to work for Andrew Little, Jr. on his ranch. This was the type of work that he enjoyed. He loved the outdoors. He joined the army and served his country from 1947 to 1950 and was stationed in Germany for part of that time. While he was working on the Little Ranch, he met Barbara Murphy at the Cherry Festival. They had many wonderful years together and always took care of each other. They were married for 64 years and raised four children; Diane (Al) Irby, Kathy Edmonds, Robert (Bekka) Arrington, and Patrick (Genevieve) Arrington.Paul went to work for Boise Cascade Mill and worked there until he retired. He loved gardening and taking care of the yard. It was always immaculate and never a weed was to be found! He was a strong, quiet and gentle husband and father. He was a shining example to his children. We were very lucky to have had him to guide our lives. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, sisters, brothers, and two of his half-brothers.
