Arlene Bessie Johnston BruttellTamarac, FLArlene Bessie Johnston Bruttell, 89, died peacefully August 4th, 2017 at her South Florida home. Arlene was born on July 27, 1928, in Detroit Michigan, daughter of Florence Squires Johnston and Leslie Gaylord Johnston. Arlene thoroughly enjoyed music, reading, book clubs and good conversation. Reading the NY times on Sunday morning was one of her great pleasures. She sang beautifully and was featured on many local live radio shows while in high school. Until just a few years ago, Arlene was very active in various lay ministries and boards at her spiritual home, All Saints Episcopal Church in Jensen Beach. Before retiring she worked as a real estate broker, property manager and was in leadership at Jesus House of Hope Ministry in Stuart, FL. Proceeded in death by her son Richard M. Bruttell. Survived by her oldest son, The Ven. Thomas Bruttell, his wife The Rev. Susan Bruttell, daughter Lisa Grant, her husband Jeffrey Grant, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many close friends, especially the residents and staff she met during the last year of her life living at Horizon Bay Senior Living Facility in Tamarac, Florida.The service to celebrate Arlene's life will take place Saturday, August 19th at 2 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church 2303 NE Seaview Drive Jensen Beach, FL 34947. In Lieu of Flowers, Arlene asked that you take a grandmother out to lunch and for a nice glass of Pinot Grigio.
