Sammons Arlend Sammons, age 69, of South Vienna passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 14, 2016. He was born on February 1, 1947 to the late Golden and Loraine (Parsley) Sammons in Turtle Creek Holler, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Arlend is preceded in death by his sister Irene Saba. Arlend leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 36 years, Cathy (Terrian) Sammons; children: Mary Wayt, Brian (Meg) Sammons, Chris (Amy) Sammons, Rachel (Brad) Roe and Emily (Wes) Comer; siblings, Libby (Bob) Moore, Golden "Sam" Sammons Jr., and Betty Sue Sammons. Also surviving Arlend are his grandchildren, Tara, Angela, Olivia, Zachary, Carly, Nicolas, Madeline, Malorie, Kaitlyn and Brian; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Gary Saba. Arlend loved his job of driving a bus for COTA. He was always wearing a smile and could light up the room. He had a passion for people, life, cars, music and The Ohio State Buckeyes. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER along with his funeral on Wednesday, October 19, at 1 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com
