Arkawanans Hull, born on December 12, 1952, in Gary, Indiana, passed away on March 9, 2025.Arkawanan Hull, lovingly known as "Arkie" by her family and friends was born on December 12, 1952, in Rapid City, South Dakota to Gloria and Herbert Cobb. Her early youth was spent in Markham, Illinois with her parents and younger siblings with Herbert "Elliot" Cobb and Carmelita "Carmie" Sams. The family later settled in Chicago where she attended Academy of Our Lady Catholic School. Arkie met and married Joseph Hull in 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. To this union three children were born: Joseph Hull Jr., Benjamin Hull, and Adam Hull. After brief stops in Markham and Richton Park, Illinois then Albuquerque, New Mexico the family ultimately settled in Gary, Indiana in 1984. Arkie served the Gary Community Schools as a teacher's aide at Locke, Nobel, and Marquette Elementary schools. From there, she developed her skill set in the printing industry while working as a graphic artist for Creative Communications, Guaranteed Printing, Kardinal Data Press, Paramount Printing and X-Press Printing. After years of hard work and dedication, she became the owner of Kopy Kat Printing in 1995 where she proudly served the Gary community for 15 years until her retirement in 2010. Arkawanan was known for her colorful and outgoing personality. She lived life on her own terms and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Her passions included exploring nature, hunting for treasure at thrift shops, going on food hunts for unique dining experiences, picking fresh fruits and vegetables, raising her family of parakeets, and found great joy in being a grandmother of 5. Despite health struggles in her golden years, she always remained sunny and optimistic. On Monday, February 24th, 2025, Arkawanan Hull departed our Earthly world for the great beyond.
