Aretha Johnson-Thompson, beloved wife of Darnell Borchlet and mother of eight children, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 17, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

Aretha was born on April 16, 1920, to her mother Hattie L. Johnson. Her father's name is unknown. She attended Cameo High School and graduated in 1938. Aretha continued her studies at Georgia Tech and graduated in 1944.

After completing her education, Aretha worked as a Grocery Bagger at Sally grocery store until her retirement in 1945. She was known for her dedication to her work and her love for spending time with her family.

Aretha married Darnell Borchlet in 1948 and together they had eight children: William, Elvis, Henry, Charles, Vera, Albert, Adam, and Bernice. She is survived by her loving husband and children, as well as her ten grandchildren.

Aretha's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
