Anthony Coats, of Corpus Christi, Texas, has shuffled off this mortal coil at the age of 77. Born on April 9, 1947, he lived a full and adventurous life until his passing on January 24, 2025.

Anthony, known to his friends as Tony, was a beloved husband to Marjorie. Together, they raised a beautiful family of six children: Sheryl, Vicardó, José, Olídya, Toñia, and Anthony Jr. He also leaves behind nine adoring grandchildren, Jacob, Bettie, K’neisha, Miah, Ajaycia, Jonai, Jeremiah, Jonathan, and Julian.

Tony spent his days as a fisherman, using his expertise to reel in the big catches and share his bounty with loved ones. In his younger years, he also proudly served in the Army as a Lieutenant in the OTC-5 unit for 12 years, showcasing his dedication to his country.

When he wasn't on the water or in uniform, Tony could often be found pursuing his favorite pastimes of fishing and enjoying a cold beer with friends. His jovial nature and quick wit endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Anthony Coats passed away after a valiant battle with different cancers, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. Rest in peace, Tony, may your lines always be tight and your beer always cold.
