Miner, AnnaAnna A. Miner, 78, of Owego, passed away on April 11, 2017, at Wilson Hospital, after a brief illness. She is survived by her children, Mark Miner and fiancée Jacquie McLaughlin, Laurie Miner, Diane Miner and Jeff Hale, Kristie Miner, and Amy and Daniel Braman; her grandchildren, Lindsey and Matthew Tomazin, Nicholas Pratt, Louis Pratt, Natalie Braman, and Sara Miner; and great-granddaughters, Julianna and Clara Tomazin. Anna is also survived by her sisters, Linda (Alfred) Demarest and Janice Hallock; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends and neighbors.Anna was born on December 20, 1938, in Binghamton. Her husband of 52 years, Robert Miner, and parents, Jean and George Lovell, preceded her in death.Anna was a woman of great compassion, generosity, and faith. She was employed as a secretary at IBM, Owego, before dedicating her life to raising her children and helping those in need. She was a devoted member of her church, serving on numerous committees as well as being a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent of Education for many years. She was also actively involved in the community, volunteering in schools, serving as a 4-H leader, delivering Meals on Wheels, and regularly visiting friends at Hilltop Nursing Home. One of her greatest joys was being a daily part of her grandchildren's lives. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.Anna's family is grateful to the many friends and neighbors who have been a support during her illness, and to Dr. Susan Choi for her kind and loving care.A memorial service and celebration of Anna's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Newark Valley, at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Rev. Tim Middleton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Friends who wish, may remember the First United Methodist Church at 63 S.
