Anna Ajirogi YeeSimi Valley, CAAnna Ajirogi Yee, 80, of Simi Valley, passed away on December 31, 2016 in Simi Valley. CA. Anna is survived by her husband of 51 years, James, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Michael Soper of Simi Valley, son and daughter-in-law Eric and Mary Yee of Henderson, NV. She greatly enjoyed time with grandchildren Amanda, Colin, Max, Ben, and Lauren. She leaves behind her brother Rudy Ajirogi (Jean), sister-in-law Sally Ajirogi (wife of deceased brother Stanley Ajirogi), nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.She leaves behind her Mother-in-law, Lizzie K. Yee, brother-in-law, Clifford Yee, and sister-in-law/husband Lorene Wood and Tom Wall. Anna was born on November 8, 1936 to Richard and Annie (Martin) Ajirogi in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. She graduated from Lanai High School, Lanai City, Lanai, Hawaii in 1954 and Washington State University, Pullman, Washington in 1958. Anna enjoyed college in Pullman and her wonderful friendship with Arlene Prince Beale and her family in Pomeroy.Anna obtained her teaching credential from California State University at Los Angeles. Anna taught elementary education in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 39 years. Her last teaching assignment was at Vine Street Elementary School in Hollywood, where she retired on June 1999. Anna was the happiest teaching her young students and working with dedicated teachers who inspired her. Upon retiring Anna enjoyed traveling, upholstering furniture, quilting, and doing crafts with groups of friends. To her friends- keep on sewing, stitching, knitting, stapling and traveling!A memorial service will be held at 11:30am Friday January 20 at Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home (2636 Sycamore Dr, Simi Valley, CA.
