ANITA GUTIERREZ MERRILLVILLE, IN Anita Gutierrez age 53 of Merrillville, IN passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on December 29, 1962 in East Chicago, IN and was a life-long resident of the region. Anita is survived by her two loving sons: Ruben and Armando Maldonado; her mother Maria Ines Gutierrez; three sisters: Blanca (Benjamin) DeLeon, Diana Gutierrez and Cynthia (Richard) Flores; many caring nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and her four-legged best friend, Gigi. She is preceded in death by her father Ruben Gutierrez. Anita was an employee of St. Anthony Home, Assisted Living in Crown Point for 41/2 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved to read, dance, bake, hit the fleamarkets and watch scary movies but most of all, spending time with her family. Anita will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
