It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Angela “Angi” Smith's sudden and unexpected departure from our lives after a brief illness on June 20, 2024. Born on May 20, 1951, Angela was a beacon of strength, always ready to offer a comforting smile when it was most needed.
➰
Angela's memory lives on in the hearts of her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Smith, and their children, Shawna Cleversley, Chris Burdett, and Billy Smith. Her daughters-in-law, Nichole Wagner and Michelle Burdett, and son-in-law, Garret Cleversley, were all recipients of her love and care. Her grandchildren, Cassie, Zach, Trevor, Alex, Owen, and Isabella were the joys of her life. Angela is now reunited with her parents, Francis and Lucy Morey, and her sister, Thelma Drozdo.
➰
Angie will be forever remembered as an eternal caregiver, always putting others before herself. Her life was marked by several admirable achievements, most notably as a highly regarded Registered Nurse for more than 25 years at St. James Hospital and subsequently as a nursing teacher for 15 years. She had a passion for taking care of others and educating future generations of caregivers. Even in retirement, she continued to care for her family and friends, always lending a helping hand.
➰
Angela’s nurturing nature extended beyond her professional life. She inherited her mother's love of ensuring that everyone had a hearty meal of sauce and meatballs, especially on Sunday afternoons when the Buffalo Bills were playing. She also found joy in community events and water aerobics. But above all, she cherished the moments when we were all together, making memories.
➰
Angela’s life was celebrated on June 23, 2024, in Lake Alfred. Angela touched so many lives, and she leaves behind an enduring legacy of warmth and devotion to her family, friends, and the causes she cared about.
