I was deeply saddened to hear of Rico’s passing. I first met him as a teenager, somewhere around the age of 14, when I lived next door and babysat for his family. Even then, his kindness and warmth made a lasting impression on me, and he quickly became a dear friend. Over the decades, we stayed in touch, I always enjoyed our conversations, and even made a few in person visits. His dedication as a Navy sailor was something I deeply admired, and his thoughtfulness, kindness, and caring nature were qualities that truly set him apart. Our recent chats were a reminder of just how special he was, and his passing leaves a void that will not easily be filled. I will deeply miss him. My heart goes out to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. -Kim Lane (Storment)
