Aline Smith1944 - 2017It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Aline Smith who passed away at Royal University Hospital on April 30, 2017 at the age of 73 surrounded by her loving family. Aline was born on April 11, 1944 in Leoville, Saskatchewan. She loved her country music and passed the time often making clothes and knitting items for her grandchildren whom she could almost never get enough of visiting until they began to outrun her. She was almost always calling to arrange visits and could nearly always be counted on for looking after her grandchildren. Like a true grandmother she truly spoiled them but also kept them in line. Aline was predeceased by Alfred Painchaud (Father), Alice Painchaud (Mother), Andrew Painchaud (Brother), Richard Hiebert (Spouse), Glen Smith (Son), Brett Williams (Grandson). Aline is survived and lovingly remembered by her oldest son Christopher Smith (Tammy) and his children Victoria Loken and Jorja Allaway. Her daughter Sandra Mourot (Chris) and their children Auston Yobb-Smith, Ashley Yobb- Smith, Krystin Smith, Calais Mourot, Lukas Mourot, and Rachel Mourot. Her youngest son Steven Smith and his children Jacob Smith-Burgess, Ethan Smith, Brayden Smith, and Savannah Smith. Her brothers and sisters Albert Painchaud (Sharon), Therese Boutin, Lea Olivier (Dave), Ludger Painchaud (Linda), Irene Peerenboom (Rick), and Muriel Painchaud. Nieces and Nephews Bridget, Brian, Brent, David, Jackie, Wilfed, Michael, Bradley, Tammy, Carrie, Ryan, Michelle, Nicole, Catherine and Melinda. The visitation for family and friends will be held Westwood Funeral Chapel , 1402 20th Street West Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Monday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Westwood Funeral Chapel, 1402 20th Street West Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Monday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. with Bob Tait presiding. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family asks that any Memorial donations be made to her favorite charities of choice The Brett Williams Legacy Fund with checks payable to the Saskatoon Community Foundation for youth involvement in sports, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, and/or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
