Alice Callahan MacMillen died of natural causes, on December 8, 2016, at age of 91, at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. Alice was born on December 12, 1924 in Clarksburg, W.Va., to John Hubert Callahan and Margaret Gilpin Callahan. She moved to Erie in 1936 and attended Strong Vincent High School, graduating in 1943. She had a long career at Erie Resistor Corporation, resigning after her marriage to William MacMillen in 1954. Her two children, Margaret MacMillen Pellegrino of Greenwich, Conn. and William MacMillen Jr. of Tampa, Fla., survive her, as do her five grandchildren, Sean and Matthew MacMillen, Catherine Cintron, Christopher Pellegrino and Kara Crowther. She was a beloved aunt to her thirteen nieces and nephews. Alice became an accomplished bridge player after she retired from the State Unemployment Office. She loved the games and tournaments at the Bridge Center and the Yacht Club. A fixture in her neighborhood, the family offers heartfelt thanks to her many neighbors, friends and supporters on Clifton Drive. Her family is especially grateful to her extraordinary caregivers at St. Mary's. Friends may call on Monday at the Francis V.
