Alfred "Ted" Rummel Jr. of Tawas City, formerly of Saginaw, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, surrounded by family. He was 73 years old. Alfred Theodore Rummel was born on Aug. 10, 1940 in Saginaw to the late Alfred Sr. and Marion (Steckert) Rummel. He married Joyce Van Ochten. He then married the love of his life, Terry, in June 2009 in Standish. Ted was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation, Ted attended Central Michigan University graduating in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. He will forever be remembered as co-owner of the Washing Well Car Wash, operating it for approximately 30 years. He was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church, a member of Germania Club and Big Brother and Big Sisters of Saginaw. Ted enjoyed running, softball, sports and traveling; but above all, he loved spending time at his home in Tawas City on the lake.Surviving are a wife, Terry Rummel of Tawas City; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Leddy of San Francisco, Calif. and Amanda Leddy of Dearborn Heights; two brothers, Tom (Joanna) Rummel of Dayton, Ohio and Dave Rummel of Dallas, Texas. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Honoring Ted's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home, Saginaw.
