Oscar was born on February 14, 1933 in Nashua, Iowa, to Cecil and Ruth (Simerson) Haus.Oscar was a lifelong truck driver who enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening. Oscar served in the Army and was a proud Korean War Veteran. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Dorthy; daughter, Linda Jones; sons, Joseph, Jonathan (Debbie), Daniel, William Haus, and Michael Butters all of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Sammie (Judy) Haus and Larry (Betta) Haus; sisters, Ruth Rice of Franklin, NC, Joan (Doug) Ray, Judy (John) Smith, Sharon (Bruce) Farrell all of Des Moines; and many extended family and friends.Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 also, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
