Alfred C. Baumer, 81, passed away on August 26, 2009, at his home in San Diego, CA. Mr. Baumer was born on May 25, 1928, in Minneapolis, MN. Al attended the University of Minnesota and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Winnie Dosch on May 23, 1959, and worked for Lieberman Enterprises in Bloomington, MN, for more than 25 years. The Baumer's moved to San Diego in 1987. He was a member of San Rafael Catholic Church and BIGGS Motorcycle Club in Escondido. He is survived by his wife; Winnie; sons, Jim and John; grandchildren, Desiree, Cory, Noah, Ella, Torin, Steve, Kevin, Alexa and Ashley; sisters, Betty Ness and Janet Krook; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kathryn, and brother, Art. His first loves were Winnie, Jim and John and his second love was Harley-Davidson motorcycles and cars. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Al's name to Silverado Hospice, 3750 Convoy St. Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92111. Arrangements are by Poway-Bernardo Mortuary.
