A Life Well Lived

On July 8, 2024, the world lost a beloved figure with the passing of Addie Geter of Shelby, North Carolina. Born on February 5, 1925, Addie lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by her loving family.

Addie was the daughter of Jules and May Choate and was happily married to Ivory Geter for an incredible 74 years. Together, they raised seven wonderful children: Ruby, Shirley, Diane (and spouse John), Gnelsie (and spouse Jimmy), Howard (and spouse Flora), Thurman (and spouse Larlee), and Nathan (and spouse Linda). Addie was also blessed with 10 grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

Having studied at Chester School High School, Addie was a lifelong learner with a passion for reading and taking leisurely walks. Her love for knowledge and exploration knew no bounds.

After a long and fulfilling life, Addie passed away peacefully of old age. While she may no longer be with us in person, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Addie.
