Abran Leo Sanchez, 87, a longtime resident of Wagon Mound, passed away on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, in Albuquerque.He was born on Dec. 23, 1928, to Maria Luisa Sanchez in Wagon Mound.He was an Air Force veteran; he worked as a cook on a resort in California for 40 years. A Catholic, he was a member of Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound.He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Luisa Sanchez; wife, Fay Sanchez; sister, Ciria Martinez and brother, Juan Serbando Sanchez.He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Sanchez and grandson, Abran Sanchez, both of Wagon Mound.Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday also at Santa Clara Church with Father C John Brasher as celebrant.Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound, with the following serving as casket bearers: Benito Mondragon, Johnny Armijo, Gilbert Armijo, Teddy Garcia, Gene Esquibel and Victor Esquibel.Visit Rogers Mortuary's website at www.rogersmortuarynm.com to sign their online register book.Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Mortuary; 600 Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas; 1-800-479-3511 or 425-3511.
